R.I.P. little buddy.
Things are not looking good for this little guy. I hope he makes it until we get back from vacation. It is not awesome telling your pet sitter the pet might die on them.
So, the vet suggested putting Vanilla to sleep. We decided to wait longer because he doesn’t seem unhappy. The worst part is how sad Cocoa will be when he loses his snuggle buddy.

Long story short: it might be something we can clear up with antibiotics, but the vet said, “You might want to get prepared to make a decision.”
To be honest, I’m pretty sure he knows the antibiotics aren’t going to work, but the tests involved in figuring it out are expensive and there wouldn’t be much they could do anyway.
I guess I knew the rats might not live that long, but I was hoping for a little longer.
