Too Much Information

Where you wonder if you should check on your sleeping child because she was complaining of a stomach ache in a more specific way than she often does even though you took her temperature and told her to call you if she felt worse, but you wait because you don’t want to be one of those crazy parents who over worries about everything (because it would be totally easy for you to slip into smothering mode) and so you wait and then you turn out the lights and are about to lay your head down when you really think, no I think I’d better go check on her and sure enough she has vomited ALL OVER HERSELF in her sleep and is still asleep but making strange moaning sounds and shaking in a weird way and you have to wake her up and tell her she puked and she is pretty surprised but takes it fairly well and gets up and goes into the shower without a peep, except when you pull the puke encased shirt up over her head, which was totally gross and almost makes you puke too, and you clean everything up and fix her bed and go back to check on her in the shower and she gets out and as you are drying her off you notice she still has puke in her hair so back in the shower and then out again and into bed and she asks what if I puke in my sleep again? And you tell her you’ll just keep checking on her, but try to wake up this time and use the trash can, and then you take every puke encased thing and go do laundry and then you realize your pajamas have puke on them so you change and then you sit down to write a tumblr post because what else are you going to do while you wait for the laundry to be done?
